Welcome back, this is already my third tutorial. And this is also a technique i used on my main page. You can do great things with these stars. Well lets get started. First create a new document. You can change the name, width and height according to you wishes. But for me these settings were ok.
Adobe Illustrator has some nifty built in features when it comes to working in three dimensions. This example gives a quick walkthrough on using such features to create a 3D rotatable globe, allowing the earth to be revolved in order to show the desired countries and continents.

To show rules hit Apple R or Ctrl R on Windows. If you are working on the web you will probably want the dimensions to be pixels so right click on the ruler and chose pixels.
